Part of my Living Organism series, Obsidian Tide draws on the meeting of volcanic earth and the restless movement of the sea. Inspired by the dark, glass-like quality of obsidian and the forces that shape natural landscapes, I wanted to create a surface that feels as though it has been formed through time, pressure and movement. Reclaimed foam and tiny stones become part of this imagined landscape, transformed into a richly textured composition.
Reclaimed dense foam, mixed media and tiny stones
58 × 45 cm
